Things To Do
This year’s event will have something for everyone.
As well as the world’s best riders and horses competing for the biggest prize pool EVER in eventing in the Southern Hemisphere totalling $150,000.00, there will be plenty of attractions to keep everyone entertained. Enjoy a drop of South Australia’s finest while enjoying the elegance of the dressage, a spot of shopping, or the thrill and excitement of cross country.
The 2017 Australian International 3 Day Event (#Aus3de) Market Place Shopping Village will be bigger than ever before. Centrally located in Victoria Park, overlooking all the action of the Main Arena, this year’s Market Place will feature Food Court & Market Place. There will also be an additional Market Place area set up on the eastern side of the Grandstand, as well as a “Sweet Treat” including ice creams, coffees, and sweets.
The Main Arena is located in front of the Adelaide City Council Heritage Grandstand, with the Food Court & Market Place situated adjacent to the Grandstand under the shade of trees with viewing to the main arena. The Market Place will have access to all three phases of the event, overlooking the Main Arena, which hosts the dressage and show jumping competitions, as well as the start and finish of the Cross Country course.
In 2017, we will maintain the premium location in Victoria Park and include a variety of ideas to continue to grow the Market Place – including the return of the big TV screen and Score Board in the Market Place area showing all the event action plus a central food court and bar. We will offer opportunities to stall holders encompassing exhibitors from a range of lifestyle, food and outdoor industries.
In addition to the four day Market Place in Victoria Park, an additional one day Market Place will be located in Rymill Park adjacent to the two exciting Rymill Lake Water jump complexes and an additional big screen on Saturday 6th November for the Qantas Cross Country Day.
The Market Place will feature everything equine but will also encompass exhibitors from a range of lifestyle and outdoor industries.

The 2017 Australian International 3 Day Event (Aus3de) will showcase a twilight evening of show jumping, international performances and celebrity appearances, including New Zealand’s own “Free Rider” Alycia Burton, as part of the Olympic themed, Barrister’s Block Wines Twilight Jumping with the Stars on Friday 17th November.
Barrister’s Block Wines Twilight Jumping with the Stars will be a free event for the general public and will include an evening of equine entertainment, starting with the RM Williams CIC3* Show Jumping, a celebrity ride and drive with a carriage horse and driver team, and the Thomas Foods International One Round Stakes featuring some of Australia’s best show jumpers. The evening will be Olympic themed, celebrating the recent success of Australia’s Bronze medal winning Australian Olympic Eventing Team in Rio, and with guest appearances by some members of the team.
The evening will also include a special performance by New Zealand based entertainer, Alycia Burton, an expert “Free Rider”, who will charm the crowds with her uncanny ability to ride her palomino pinto horse, Classic Goldrush, with no saddle, no bridle and no fear.
Alycia will be touring Australia with Goldrush this year and will be making the Aus3de a major part of her circuit. Alycia says she is excited to show the crowds at Adelaide her unique style of riding.
“I am looking forward to performing at Aus3de, where I will be able to show the audience how I ride without a saddle or bridle, over obstacles and jumps up to 1.60m in the main arena,” Alycia said.
“Free riding is a method centred on trust between horse and rider, which I have taught myself. My demonstration aims to inspire, entertain and enthral,” she said.
Aus3de Event Director Gillian Rolton said the Barrister’s Block Wines Twilight Jumping with the Stars will be a spectacular evening of equestrian sports.
“The Barrister’s Block Wines Twilight Jumping with the Stars will showcase an amazing display of equestrian entertainment,” Gillian said. “From crowd pleasers and celebrity events, to Show Jumping and Olympic heroes straight from Rio, there will be something for everyone.”
“We anticipate a large attendance to the evening showcase, with the Market Place featuring a range of food trucks and a bar. The VIP Chairman’s Lounge will be the best place in the house to watch all the action and get up close with the Australian Olympic Eventing team, with Twilight VIP food and drink packages soon to be released,” she said.
