It’s finally time to go to Adelaide! We’re currently in the truck on our way to Balranald tonight, and then on to Adelaide tomorrow. The last few weeks of prep have been fairly smooth sailing but definitely not in the all clear just yet! I headed down to Canberra by my self with Dab, Wanda and Harvey (the dog) 3 weeks ago to the showjumping state titles. Both horses were in the speed rounds on Friday and Saturday, both jumped super and Wanda even placed 8th in her last round! Then onto Albury, our last event before Adelaide. Dab and Wanda both in the CCI3*-S. Needing this qualification on Wanda to be able to compete in the CCI4*-S at Adelaide I was a little stressed but also knew there was nothing she couldn’t do so giving her the best ride I could we finished with an MER 🎉 Dab showing a little greenness and also me with a slight rider error in the XC, just picking up a 20, but a good wake up call to make sure we both stay on our game and I remember he’s only 6 and still new to these tougher courses. This weekend was the SIEC Hit Out. I took both horses again on the Saturday for some last minute XC training with dad and ran through my tests on Sunday to then finish with a showjump round. So happy with how they went and now feeling pretty confident with my prep! It’s hard to believe that I was only just born when Dad took his first trip to Adelaide. Now 22 years...

Media Release EMABARGOED UNTIL 12PM WED. OCTOBER 30 2019 The Mitsubishi Motors Australian International 3 Day Event (MMAus3de) pays tribute to the late Gillian Rolton by renaming the Main Arena in her honour. The MMAus3de will unveil the Gillian Rolton Arena at a special media event in Victoria Park – home to the annual event – on Wednesday October 30. MMAus3de Chairman and Mrs Rolton’s husband, Greg Rolton, was proud of the arena renaming and said his late wife would have been touched. “Gillian spent most of her life enjoying this wonderful sport, loving every minute she had in this arena alongside her horses,” Mr Rolton said. “She would have been honoured to have this arena which is the centre of our event named after her. I am so grateful to be standing here today paying tribute to her, her contribution to the sport of eventing and her equestrian career.” Mrs Rolton passed away in 2017 at age 61 after losing her battle with cancer. Considered one of Australia’s Equestrian champions, having won two Olympic gold medals. Mrs Rolton was made a member of the Order of Australia posthumously in 2018 for “for significant service to horse sports through roles with a range of national and international equestrian organisations. This recognition follows on from Gillian being awarded the Order of Australia Medal in the 1993 Australia Day Honours, as well as being inducted into the Sport Australia Hall of Fame in 2000 and the South Australian Sport Hall of Fame in 2010 where she was elevated to legend status alongside Sir Donald Bradman. Well it’s been another busy month at Tinney Eventing! But so far everything has been running very smoothly in the lead up to Adelaide! There’s less then 5 weeks before we pack up the truck and head down with 4 horses. I have mainly been training at home with Dad, whenever I jump it’s always with him, however he has just gone away for 3 weeks overseas so I will now start to get some help with mum. I’ve also been having some dressage lessons with my non family coach Daniella Deirks. We start galloping with horses next week! So getting pretty serious now! There’s only been 1 event this month which was amazing!! I had 3 in the top classes, Diabolo in his first 4*…! I know what you’re thinking “why is he in the 4* when I’m planning on taking him 3* at Adelaide?” Well after his win at SIEC Spring Eventing I thought what’s the point running him around 3* till Adelaide when he finds them easy? But to step it up a notch at Canberra to get him really ready for whatever is thrown at us at Adelaide 3*! I am over the moon on how he went! Clear in both jumping phases! Wow so excited about this special boy. I can’t thank Tim Game enough for this opportunity-Dab is super special. Wanda stepped down a grade from SIEC Spring Eventing as taking our fall on the flat made us not qualified for 4* at Canberra. Cruising around the 3* with a good test and clear in both jumping finished us in 9th! I also...
